Do people confuse Creationism and Intelligent Design as a result of ignorance?

nope. There is definitive line between atheism and agnosticism. one cannot have Intelligent design without creationism. I would be more than happy to indulge any intelligent design theory that does not involve creationism. ID is simply a poorly implement attempt to teach religion as science.
